The group’s head office occupies level 30 and 31 of the building at 420 George Street in Sydney, designed by the historic architecture firm Bates Smart. Two carefully articulated volumes permit the new building to fit intelligently into the surrounding context: a podium that reinterprets, in a contemporary key, the proportions of the surrounding historic buildings, and a glazed office tower that was conceived as a visually lightweight series of column-free floorplates.
The interior design is by the Hassell design studio. They developed a layout that reflects the company’s core values while leveraging the quality of the spaces and reducing the total carbon footprint by 12%. Key themes underpinning the finishes and furnishings selected by Hassel include playful lighting, exposed structural elements, and contrasting juxtapositions of natural timbers, raw concrete, and colourful fabrics.
This is the context that hosts the fit-out of iSatelliti S200 workstations by UniFor, including the double version, conceived for focused individual work or collaboration in pairs. The six-person bench configurations and the three-person islands, both made to measure, feature electric-powered sit-to-stand height adjustment, allowing each user to quickly adapt their desk to their current needs. A careful selection of flexible and efficient furnishing elements allows Investa’s staff to choose a different environment each day from amongst a wide range of quiet, social, and collaborative spaces in which to meet and work.
