Libreria CF
Home to one of the largest collections on the artistic and cultural traditions of Switzerland, the Musée d'Ethnographie de Genève is housed in a building that stands out against the surrounding urban context for its slanted facades covered in sheet metal, and large rhomboid-shaped windows. Inside, a wide staircase connects the loft library, the foyer and the multipurpose conference hall to the exhibition space. Here, the permanent exhibition “The Archive of Differences” clearly illustrates how the various cultures have evolved together over time. The library is located in the impressive double volume of the top floor, completely flooded with natural light, with its layout neatly organized by means of a modular bookcase system. Restraint, lightness of form and refined spatial qualities create a reading and reference environment that is both inviting and functional.
Libreria CF is a modular bookcase system for well-appointed libraries. Flexible and adaptable to project requirements, it is composed of aluminum modules in a double-sided freestanding version and a single-sided wall version, complete with bookshelf accessories. (design by Dante Bonuccelli)
